Were there steps you took to maintain a consistent octane level, and was your tune programmed for a said octane level. The best case scenario would be to use 93 octane without any ethanol, thereby making 93 octane the lowest common denominator while also maximizing the amount of E85 you can get into your E30 mixture. I don't know, can you still find gas without any ethanol? Either I don't notice it anymore, they aren't required to list it here anymore, or it is currently the norm to have ethanol in all gas. Premium fuel is a must in the Focus RS as per. That’s a combination of 30-percent ethanol and 70-percent gasoline. I remember when I would notice gas pumps listing the % of ethanol in regular gas. Turning our attention back to the 684-horsepower build, Mountune mentions E30 fuel. The more ethanol or E85 you can get into your mixture the higher your octane(what we really want) is going to be. The recognition in your example that most(all?) gas already has 10% ethanol is worth noting. In the 87 octane example your E30 was only netting 91 octane, so what's the point. Step it up even more by purchasing an E30/Race Gas/WMI tune to be included with your custom tune set-up. You're calculator's point out very well what we were trying to say.
